Here's a wonderful pair of 14-inch-diameter Turkish K hi-hats from the New Stamp era, which ran from 1967 to 1977. These are some the cleanest Ks we've ever had come through our shop, and they even come with the original plastic bag!
The sound is warm and buttery and papery, just like a pair of thin old Ks ought to be. They feel soft under the stick, and the volume always stays controlled. Hi-hats don't really get much vibier than this!
Both cymbals are in excellent shape, with cracks or keyholing.
The lighter cymbal of the pair weighs in at 884 grams and has a unique diameter of 14-1/16" - this cymbal has standard wear for being a fifty-some year old cymbal.
The heavier cymbal of the pair comes in at 894 grams, just ten grams above its mate. This one is exactly 14" diameter, and is just incredibly clean.
Neither of these cymbals appear to have ever been cleaned, so that's genuine patina, or a lack thereof. This is about as close as you're going to find to a new old stock pair of 70s Turkish Ks!
These sound great with either cymbal on top. Please check our demo video!
