Pearl's classic 1990s Free Floating snare drum - Alongside the Yamaha SD493, the Free Floater is the classic 14" piccolo snare.
It's got tons of crack, like a good piccolo should. But this one has the copper shell insert, so the top end is more controlled than the more common brass Free Floater, so while this drum produces the high crack you want, it won't completely take your head off. But it won't get buried in the mix either.
This particular drum has the later round tension lugs, which are more reliable than the original hex-shaped lugs. So it's the best of all Free Floating worlds!
Drum does show normal wear for being 30 years old, but overall very nice shape, and all mechanicals work as they should!
