Used Mapex Black Panther Special Edition Maple Snare Drum

This was part of a limited run of snares made for that big drum center up in that state north of Massachusetts. We're not entirely sure of the story, why they used a Saturn throwoff instead of the normal cylinder drive throw, or why Mapex never offered these cool ash burl maple shells on a larger scale, but we can tell you that about sixty were made, and that this drum sounds great.

Maple is a classically balanced-sounding shell, and the die-cast hoops offer up just a little extra crack. This is a fantastic drum at a great price!
