DW were an absolute powerhouse in the 1990s. Today we almost take them for granted; that their drums are everywhere, ubiquitous, on what feels like every touring band's drum riser. Well, on their meteoric rise to megalithism, they picked up many well-known drummers as endorsers, one being Nick Mason of Pink Floyd, who alongside Gary Wallis used a gorgeous birdseye maple-finished kit very similar to this on their 1995 live album PULSE. Gary also had a similar birdseye maple DW kit, and it seems that not many more drums were made in grayish birdseye.
Well, here's one. Where Nick and Gary's kits had chrome hardware, this one is fit with DW's classic 1990s brass-plated hardware. There's some patina on the brass over the last thirty-ish years, which is normal, and gives the kit an air of experience.
Shells are 6-ply Keller maple with 6-ply reinforcement rings, as DW used before they started making their own shells.
The lacquer finish itself is in good shape.
And I mean, come on, that's five toms and a matching snare! You've already got a shell bank going!
This is a shell pack and includes floor tom legs but no hardware or stands.
2112 Percussion is not affiliated with Nick Mason or Pink Floyd.
