All Performance Series™ shells are built with DW’s patented HVX™ technique, which features 100% Maple plies with grains oriented in horizontal, vertical, and diagonal patterns for low, punchy fundamentals.

Bearing Edge

HVX™ shells are precision-cut with 45-degree (toms) and 60-degree (bass and snare) edges. These edges provide tonality and sustain from your toms, and depth and punch from your bass and snare.

The Performance Series is handcrafted with North American Maple by DW in the California custom shop. Bearing all the hallmarks of custom drums, the Performance Series features HVX shell construction, which produces warm and punchy fundamentals with resonance and projection to spare.

This snare drum features a 10-ply shell, quarter lugs, a 45-degree back-cut bearing edge, MAG throw-off, and TruePitch tuning tension rods. *
