The Performance Series is handcrafted with North American Maple by DW in the California Custom Shop. These custom-quality drums feature 100% North American Maple shells for inspiring tone provides versatility across musical genres and shines in both live and studio environments. The shells of this series are constructed with HVX' (horizontal-vertical-diagonal) SSC grain orientation for a low fundamental with punchy attack and classic warm tone. The tom and bass drum shells feature eight plies of North American Hard Rock Maple with 45- and 60-degree back cut bearing edges, while snare drums feature 10 plies with a 45-degree back cut edge. This series offers similar hardware features to the Collector's Series, including Suspended Tom Mounts (STM), quarter-sized turret lugs, and triple-flange graduated counter hoops. Performance Series bass drums offer matching Maple hoops and low-mass claw hooks, while all drums are equipped with TruePitch tuning tension rods. The Performance Series is available in a selection of hand-applied finishes, satin oil, and a durable FinishPly'. This configuration features a 8x10 and 9x12 mounted toms, 14x16 floor tom, 18x22 bass drum, and a 6.5x14 matching snare. *

The Performance Series is handcrafted in Oxnard, California from 100% North American Hard Rock Maple. These drums utilize DW’s groundbreaking shell construction and drum hardware to deliver you a complete instrument.
All Performance Series™ shells are built with DW’s patented HVX™ technique, which features 100% Maple plies with grains oriented in horizontal, vertical, and diagonal patterns for low, punchy fundamentals.
Bearing Edge
HVX™ shells are precision-cut with 45-degree (toms) and 60-degree (bass and snare) edges. These edges provide tonality and sustain from your toms, and depth and punch from your bass and snare.
FinishPly™
The revolutionary wrap finish bonds to the shell and performs like a ply, while providing beauty with enhanced durability.
Lugs / Colors
Performance Series™ lugs offer a quarter-sized version of the iconic turret design. All Performance Series™ hardware is available exclusively in Chrome.
True-Pitch® Tuning Rods
True-Pitch® tuning features 5mm threads rather than the standard 12/24. There’s a thread every 0.8mm on DW True-Pitch® rods or about 20% more threads, versus a standard thread every 1.05mm. The result is more exact tuning. Performance Series kits feature True-Pitch® TP30 steel tuning rods.
Counter Hoops
Performance Series are available exclusively with Chrome triple-flange steel hoops to give your drums great versatile sound. These hoops come in graduated weights (1.6mm for 8 & 10" toms, 2.3mm for 12-18" toms, and 3mm for snares).
DW MAG™ Throw-off Systems
The MAG™ throw-off has an integrated magnet and horizontal tension adjustment for smooth, easy-adjust action.
Butt Plates
The versatile 3P butt plate offers three different levels of strainer tension.
STM™ - Suspension Tom Mount
DW’s patented STM™ system allows shells maximum resonance while securing your toms in place. No washers or grommets contact the lug rod receivers, so choking is reduced, and tuning is as easy as ever.
Floor Tom Legs
Performance Series Tom Legs allow you to adjust the resonance of any DW floor tom by adjusting the knurled knob. Available in 21" Chrome-plated steel.
